Bryan & Company Student Called to the Bar

The partners at Bryan & Company Calgary LLP are pleased to announce that Jessica Kozak was called to the bar on July 22, 2016 in a ceremony before the Hounourable Justice Kristine Eidsvik.  We are also pleased to announce that we have offered an associate positions to Jessica and are pleased to announce that she has accepted.

The whole team at Bryan & Company Calgary LLP is excited that Jessica will remain with the firm and we offer her our heartfelt congratulations.

Kirk Mason admitted to partnership

Bryan & Company Calgary LLP, is proud to announce that Kirk Mason has been admitted to the partnership effective January 1, 2016.

We are very pleased to have Kirk accept our offer of partnership at Bryan & Company Calgary LLP. He graduated from the Faculty of Law at Dalhousie University in 2009 after completing his undergraduate studies at St. Francis Xavier University. Kirk practiced with a prominent national firm before joining Bryan & Company Calgary LLP in 2011and has established a practice focused on construction law, insurance, and commercial litigation.

Kirk is an incredible addition to our team. His experience, enthusiasm and dedication to our clients adds significant value to the firm. In addition to being an excellent lawyer, Kirk is an equally exceptional person who has seamlessly integrated himself into the fabric of our firm. We look forward to spending many years with Kirk as a key contributor to our office and are proud to call him our partner

Michael Hokanson receives Q. Arb Designation

Bryan & Company Calgary LLP partner Michael Hokanson is a recent recipient of the Q. Arb designation from the ADR Institute of Canada (ADRIC). The Q. Arb designation is a nationally recognized level of achievement indicating that a practitioner meets a specific professional criteria for education and training, keeps current in the field, and subscribes to the Code of Ethics for ADRIC and ADRIA. The designation marks Michael as a “qualified arbitrator”. While arbitration is an unregulated field, the stringent qualification process associated with the Q. Arb designation gives assurances of a high level training, quality of service, and competence in the practice.

David Corrigan receives Q.C. Designation

Bryan & Company Calgary LLP is pleased to congratulate David Corrigan Q.C. on his inclusion as one of the 2014 recipients of the  “Queen’s Counsel” designation.  The designation is a way of recognizing members of the Law Society for outstanding expertise, work, and contributions to the legal profession as a whole.

We are extremely proud to call David one of our own and wish to acknowledge this incredible achievement.

Erin Viala Admitted to Partnership

Bryan & Company Calgary LLP, is proud to announce that Erin Viala has been admitted to the partnership at its Calgary office effective January 1, 2014.

We are very pleased to have Erin accept our offer of partnership at Bryan & Company Calgary LLP. She graduated from the Faculty of Law at the University of Alberta in 2006.  Erin articled with and practiced as an associate with a prominent national firm before joining Bryan & Company Calgary LLP in January of 2011and has established a practice focused on employment law, realizations, and commercial litigation.

Erin’s experience, enthusiasm and dedication to our clients further enhance our already strong law firm. Her ability to create practical solutions for our clients, keen eye for detail, and overall great fit within the fabric of our office make her an ideal partnership candidate.  We are excited that she has chosen to continue her career with us and look forward to her remaining an integral part of our firm for years to come.

Michael Hokanson elected to the Board of Directors for ADRIA

Michael Hokanson has been elected to join the Board of Directors of the ADR Institute of Alberta (ADRIA). Mike offers both mediation and arbitration services to his clients and is a strong believer in the Alternative Dispute Resolution process. Most of Mike’s ADR education and training came through the ADRIA so it is an organization that he is excited to be a part of in a more direct fashion.

Michael Hokanson and Sean Jeffers have both completed extensive dispute resolution and mediation training with the ADR Institute of Alberta. Further, their years of litigation experience gives them the creativity and knowledge necessary to assist you and your clients and they are confident that the relationships they have built with counsel, on both sides of the table, will help them mediate even the most difficult issues.
