Representative Work

Jeff strives to provide practical, timely advice for his clients with a view to resolve civil disputes through litigation, mediation, and a number of other alternative dispute resolution forums as a member of our Advocacy Group. He has particular interest in the following areas:

  • Advising clients on strategic approaches for the prompt resolution of all forms of litigation including complex multi-party disputes
  • Serious Personal Injury claims arising out of industrial accidents, motor vehicle and pedestrian accidents, and occupier’s liability incidents, products liability
  • Insurance Litigation including first party claims, complex coverage disputes, large loss subrogation matters, priority claims, SEF 44 defence and commercial general liability disputes
  • Product Manufacturer’s Liability Litigation including design and fabrication deficiencies
  • Construction litigation including building/construction/design deficiencies and substantial property loss claims
  • Defamation, libel, and slander
  • Wrongful dismissal litigation

Profile

Jeff has appeared as counsel at all levels of Court in Alberta in addition to representing clients at the Supreme Court of Canada. Jeff has participated in complicated trials involving vicarious liability with intentional torts, manufacturers, liability over design issues as well as causation and quantum issues arising from injury causing accidents. Jeff is frequently involved in the resolution of claims through interest based negotiations as well as alternative dispute resolution including mediation and judicial dispute resolution. He is conversationally fluent in French and able to provide legal assistance to clients who speak that language.
