Representative Work

Ken is committed to finding creative resolutions to complex and challenging problems, and brings a wealth of experience to this task. He has developed a reputation as a strategic problem solver who is able to suggest innovative strategies to achieve cost effective results. He resolves civil disputes for his clients through litigation, mediation, and a number of other alternative dispute resolution forums. He has particular interest in the following areas:

  • Advising clients on strategic approaches for the resolution of complex multi-party and international disputes
  • Catastrophic Personal Injury and Fatality Litigation arising out of industrial accidents, motor vehicle accidents, and occupier’s liability incidents
  • Corporate and Commercial Litigation including contractual, commercial, and shareholder disputes
  • Construction Litigation representing design professionals, contractors, and project managers in a multitude of construction related claims including complex building/construction/design deficiencies, property loss and delay claims
  • Occupational Health and Safety issues including defending regulatory prosecutions
  • Products Liability and Manufacturer’s Liability litigation including design and fabrication deficiencies
  • Insurance Litigation including first party claims, complex coverage disputes, large loss subrogation matters, priority claims, SEF 44 defence, large loss property claims, extra contractual and bad faith claims against insurers

Profile

Ken has appeared as counsel before all levels of Court in Alberta, the Northwest Territories, Yukon, and on leave applications before the Supreme Court of Canada in addition to representing clients in a number of American disputes. He has extensive trial experience at both the Trial and Appellate levels including Civil Jury Trial experience and is frequently involved in the resolution of claims through alternative dispute resolution.

Ken has been a guest speaker and put on presentations for a number of groups within the legal industry in addition to regularly putting on seminars for institutional clients. Ken currently sits on the firm’s Professional Development Committee.
