Representative Work

Carter understands and appreciates the issues his clients face, and is able to apply a mix of both practical and legal knowledge to reach solutions in a timely and effective manner. He is also able to advise clients on preventative measures to avoid troublesome situations in the future. He currently practices mostly in civil litigation, resolving clients' issues through the use of the court system, but also through effective negotiation and alternative dispute resolution such as mediation. Carter also continues to be active in all of the firm's practice areas, with a particular interest in the following areas:

  • Advising clients on strategic approaches for the prompt and economical resolution of disputes;
  • Corporate and Commercial Litigation including contractual, commercial, and shareholder disputes;
  • Advising on most operational aspects of business enterprises, including employment matters, contract matters, real and personal property leasing matters;
  • Negotiating business transactions;
  • Legal research

Carter practices out of the Edmonton office. He has appeared in Provincial Court and the Court of Queen's Bench in Alberta.
