The Opportunity:

Title: Litigation Associate

Reports To: Partnership

Location: Edmonton, AB

With a diversified portfolio of clients across a wide variety of industries, our litigation group has experience in all levels of court and is well-equipped to handle a variety of disputes ranging from Provincial Court claims to complex multiparty actions at the King’s Bench and federal court and tribunal levels.

As an Associate, you will have the opportunity to work on complex cases, further develop your legal skills, and contribute to the growth and success of our firm. You will be responsible for providing support in various legal matters, including contributing to case research, document drafting, and client interaction. This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact while working alongside talented lawyers in a collaborative and entrepreneurial environment.

Associates play a pivotal role in representing our clients across a spectrum of litigation matters and actively engage in all facets of litigation support, from conducting legal research, analyzing statutes and regulations, to providing clients with legal opinions and recommendations.

Additionally, you will be entrusted with crafting an array of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, affidavits, and settlement agreements. Alongside these tasks, you will exhibit keen case management abilities, assuring case progression within established timelines, and maintaining comprehensive records. Collaborative teamwork within the firm is essential, as is the development and execution of sound legal strategies, all aimed at securing favorable outcomes for our clients.

Education & Experience:

  • J.D. or LLB Degree from an accredited law school;
  • Membership in good standing with the Law Society of Alberta;
  • Minimum 3 years litigation experience within a private practice environment;
  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to handle multiple case files, priorities, and deadlines; and
  • Track record of success meeting and exceeding client expectations.
