Karissa is beginning her legal career as an articling student with Bryan & Company. She is currently involved in many areas of practice and is eager to gain experience in the diverse range of both solicitation and litigation work. Karissa is committed to providing professional, practical, and detail-oriented services to clients.

Karissa graduated from the University of Alberta Faculty of Law with Distinction in 2022. Both before and after law school, she has enjoyed being involved in her community. While attending law school, Karissa was involved with Student Legal Services in the Civil and Family project, a program that provides legal education and support for low-income individuals. She was also active with Student Legal Services Legal Education and Reform Project, participating in community outreaches at the Mustard Seed in Edmonton. Throughout her law school and undergraduate years, she worked with members of the agricultural community as a Crop Inspector for a local municipal government and as a volunteer with Alberta 4-H, an organization that promotes youth leadership in Alberta. She looks forward to continuing to give back to her community while at Bryan & Company.

In her former years Karissa was a competitive swimmer and member of Alberta Water Polo. She is also a former NCAA athlete, competing as a rower at Eastern Michigan University while pursuing her undergraduate degree. In law school, Karissa participated as a member and co-captain of the Panda Bearristers Rugby Club. She looks forward to bringing this same energy and dedication to resolving her client’s legal issues.
