Chaylene is a partner at Bryan & Company with a primary area of practice in labour and employment law, acting for both employers and employees in drafting and litigation work.

She takes the drafting of employment and other corporate documents seriously and leverages that knowledge to aid her employment and labour litigation practice. Chaylene maintains expertise in the fast-changing landscape of employment and labour law, advising on corporate transactional work within the firm. She has appeared in multiple levels of court and provincial and federal tribunals, such as those handling workers’ compensation, human rights, and union matters. Chaylene maintains a broader practice in civil litigation, wills and estates, and estate litigation. Additionally, her drafting background aids her in negotiating and litigating shareholders disputes and other commercial litigation.

Chaylene offers a full-service practice, where she is part of her client’s team. She takes pride in being a trusted advisor and is both responsive and strategic, efficiently and practically resolving current issues and helping prevent future ones.

Chaylene is a sessional instructor of Employment Law at the University of Alberta Faculty of Law and is a member of the Canadian Bar Association. She serves on the executive for the CBA North section for Labour & Employment Law and is a certified graduate of the LESA Annual Intensive Advocacy course. She is involved in several entrepreneurial groups within the Edmonton area. Chaylene formerly served on the board of directors of ABC Head Start, a charitable organization providing educational and social services to at-risk preschool children. She regularly volunteers with Student Legal Services at the University of Alberta and regularly dedicates time to other charitable legal initiatives, especially if they involve running. Chaylene currently sits on the firm’s Professional Development Committee and enjoys helping to build the great team that is Bryan & Company LLP.
