Chaylene is a partner at Bryan & Company, where she primarily practices in the areas of employment and labour, acting for both employers and employees in drafting and litigation work.  She is also an experienced commercial litigator, and her practice includes work in the areas of wills, trusts, and estates.

As a lead of the Firm’s robust Employment and Labour team, Chaylene is constantly keeping pace with the fast-changing landscape of employment and labour law. She offers a complete service model to her clients, acting as part of their internal team and becoming a trusted advisor. She is both responsive and strategic, efficiently and practically resolving issues and helping to prevent future ones. Chaylene’s experience with employee ownership programs and employment drafting assists her in negotiating and litigating shareholder disputes and other commercial matters.

Chaylene has appeared at all levels of court in Alberta, as well as provincial and federal tribunals across the country such as those handling workers’ compensation, human rights, and union matters. In 2024, her peers awarded her with the The Best Lawyers in CanadaTM: Ones to Watch distinction for Corporate and Commercial Litigation.

Chaylene is a Sessional Instructor at the University of Alberta’s Faculty of Law, where she teaches Professionalism and Ethics. She is a previous instructor of the Faculty’s Employment Law offering.  She currently serves on the executive board for the Canadian Bar Association’s Labour & Employment Law (North) section and is a certified graduate of the LESA Annual Intensive Advocacy course. Chaylene regularly volunteers with Student Legal Services at the University of Alberta’s Faculty of Law and dedicates time to other charitable legal initiatives (especially if they involve running).

Within the Firm, Chaylene serves on both the Business Development Committee and Professional Development Committee, where she enjoys helping build the great team that is Bryan & Company LLP.
