He has extensive experience, including 17 years in private practice with the Firm and 15 years acting as general counsel for automotive retail, software, and distribution public companies. His external experience includes time spent as vice president, general counsel, and corporate secretary for TSX and TSX Venture listed corporations, including AutoCanada Inc.
Erin’s experience includes automotive retail transactions and structuring, but extends to mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and reorganizations of all business ventures. He often assists his clients with commercial real estate transactions, including the acquisition, disposition, or leasing of properties. He also assists his clients with general governance matters, including shareholder agreements, partnership agreements, limited partnership agreements, and joint venture agreements. Other areas of focus include advising on day-to-day operational matters, such as employment, leasing, and other contractual matters. Erin’s longstanding relationships with many clients have led him to assist with business succession planning and he is adept at coordinating with the Firm’s many practice areas, such as the wills, estates, and trusts group.
