Ken is counsel with Bryan & Company, practicing corporate and commercial law with experience in a wide range of corporate matters. He has significant experience advising his clients on banking and financial services matters, including bilateral and syndicated financing arrangements, acting for both lenders and borrowers. Ken also advises his clients on the organization of new business ventures, and the development of strategies for the purchase or sale of a business, including implementing mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, or reorganizations of all types.
Ken also focuses on real estate matters such as the acquisition, disposition, development, or leasing of commercial properties or residential land parcels, including acting for landlords and tenants involving office, industrial, retail, and ground leases. His long history with the Firm has resulted in a focus on business succession for his clients, including through estate planning and the preparation of wills, powers of attorney and other estate planning documents. Ken advises on the estate implications of re-marriages and common-law relationships, along with the protection of estate assets through the establishment of trusts. He also assists executors or corporate trustees in the administration of trusts and estates.
Ken has lectured on behalf of the Law Society for the bar admission course and given numerous seminars to both professional and private groups. He has served on the Board of Directors for the Support Network and Northern Alberta YMCA. He has been recognized by The Best Lawyers in CanadaTM in the area of Real Estate Law.
