Articling

Bryan & Company LLP is pleased to invite you to join our team.

We are an established full-service firm in Edmonton, Alberta in both the corporate and litigation arenas. We belong to an international network of firms named Ally Law. Our office is known for our collegial environment, flexible career paths, and entrepreneurial spirit.

We are happy to review application materials from all Canadian law schools.  As an articling student, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a variety of legal areas and work alongside experienced lawyers and legal professionals.  Our articling students participate in an informal rotation ensuring exposure to the firm’s major areas of practice as well as continuing legal education. We provide coaching, mentoring and support in all areas of law in which we practice and ensure that our articling students have the flexibility to ultimately select an area of practice of their choosing.

Instead of spending the articling experience conducting research and drafting memos while being sheltered from clients, our articling students can expect a more varied and client-focused experience interacting directly with clients, lawyers, drafting documents, making court appearances and taking conduct of files from early in the process. We believe this approach fosters rapid learning, not only of the practice of law, but of how a law firm operates as a business and how to best serve clients. Our goal is to create an environment that allows our articling students to develop knowledge of the law and become well-rounded professionals. We also want our students to have fun!  Students are encouraged to observe and shadow our lawyers whenever possible, to give first-hand experience with day-to-day life at our firm and the practice of law. We also endeavour to give students a wide range of assignments directed at expanding their knowledge and legal skills.

Please send your cover letter, resume, and any available post-secondary transcripts through the viLawPortal and direct any questions to the attention of Chaylene Gallagher at bcrecruiters@bryanco.com. If you do not have access to the viLawPortal, please submit your application materials to that email. We can’t wait to get to know you!
